3G Facility

27/01/2020

A major development for the Club this year is to take forward the installation of a 3G all-weather playing surface and the construction of a new pavilion at the Davie Park in Rattray.

In 2018, Perth & Kinross Council announced an allocation of £500K towards this 3G facility. Following on from this very welcome support, the Club is now developing a business plan to support the delivery of a full size floodlit 3G pitch along with off-pitch facilities.

In addition to the 3G pitch, a new modern pavilion - fit for the future will include changing rooms, viewing area, social space, kitchen, café and meeting room. The Club’s Facility Group who are taking this development forward consists of skilled and knowledgeable local people from across the footballing and business community.  The Group is working very effectively to engage with many key partners and organisations in exploring the various options for the pitch and facility.  There are many factors to consider, in particular the pricing of this project which should create a lasting legacy, be realistic in terms of cost and timely in order to make it happen over the next two to three years.  The final cost could well be in the region of £1.25 million and so additional sources of funding are being pursued.

In taking forward the Business Plan, the Club is grateful for the continuing support of their partners in this endeavour – Scottish Football Association, Blairgowrie & Rattray Community Council, Blairgowrie & Rattray Development Trust, East Perthshire Community Sports Hub and a number of the departments Perth & Kinross Council, to name a few.
